Paul M. Kaplick holds a BSc in applied psychology with a specialization in clinical psychology, and is currently pursuing his graduate studies in the area of brain and cognitive sciences at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. He established and heads the Islam and Psychology research group at the Islamic Association of Social and Educational Professions in Frankfurt and Munich, Germany; is a research affiliate of the Muslims and Mental Health Laboratory of Dr. Rania Awaad at Stanford University, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences; is a research assistant in the Al-Karam Lab for Islamic Psychology of Dr. Carrie York Al-Karam at the University of Iowa; and has worked at the Institute of Muslim Mental Health under Dr. Hamada Hamid, DO. As an undergraduate, he conducted research at Oxford University (Department of Psychiatry), the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich, the Institute for Therapeutic Research Munich, and the Clinic of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich.
