Ibrahim Rüschoff

Ibrahim Rüschoff, MD, studied education and medicine in Hamburg and Münster, Germany. He specialized in neurology, psychiatry, and psychotherapy (psychodynamic therapy) and worked as a senior consultant for several hospitals in Germany. Since 2007, he has worked as a licensed medical psychotherapist in a private practice together with his wife, Malika Laabdallaoui. For over thirty-five years, his area of expertise has been the psychosocial support of Muslims in Germany, and he has published several books, book chapters, and journal articles on spiritually integrated psychotherapy with Muslims. He is a member of the German Association for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics (DGPPN) and the German Council of Muslims in Germany (ZMD), and he founded the Islamic Association of Social and Educational Professions in Germany in 1989.
