Elizabeth Johnston Taylor, PhD, RN, completed her PhD in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, a post doctoral fellowship at UCLA, as well as training in chaplaincy and spiritual direction. She has authored or coauthored more than seventy publications, ten funded research projects, and four books (including Spiritual Care: Nursing Theory, Research, and Practice [2002, Prentice Hall] and Religions: A Clinical Guide for Nurses [2012, Springer]). She lectures frequently on spirituality and health and is currently associate professor at the School of Nursing at Loma Linda University in California.
